An Assistant Accountant provides support to internal and external customers and will work predominately either as an assistant accountant within practice or alternatively within the finance function of an organisation.Part of their role will involve assisting in the day to day financial activities such as data entry to month end management of accounts and/or year-end financial statements. In addition the Assistant Account may find themselves involved in regulatory financial requirements such as the completion of VAT returns or assisting in the preparation of tax computations.

3This unit will allow you to understand the basic principles of accounting including VAT and Payroll, complex year and adjustments and the difference between capital, revenue income and expenditure. You will then move onto the production of Sole Trader and Partnership accounts.
4This unit will allow you to understand the format of the accounts for sole traders, understand partnership accounts and have a detailed look into incomplete records.
5This unit will allow you to understand the nature of VAT, Making Tax Digital, VAT docs, Payroll and VAT errors and will explain how an organisation should interact with HMRC.
