Company’s with less than 50 employees: If your apprentice is under 19 years old, there is no cost. If your apprentice is over 19, there is a 5% contribution. Company’s with more than 50 employees: Whether your apprentice is under or over 19 years old, there is a 5% contribution.
If your business has hired an Apprentice since 6th April 2016, who is aged under 25 and is enrolled on an Apprenticeship, you can claim back your National Insurance Contributions for them.
