The UK investment firm has promoted Colleen McHugh to interim chief investment officer, succeeding David Semmens, who is leaving the business.

She will work alongside Kyle Cox who takes on the role of deputy chief investment officer.

McHugh is the managing director of Guernsey-based 1818 Venture Capital and has been on Wealthify’s investment committee since 2019.

IQ-EQ

Matt Haynes has been promoted to global head of business intermediaries and partners at the financial services provider.

He spent the last eight years as group business development director at the firm.

Interactive Investor

The UK investment platform has hired Saj Arshad as chief commercial officer.

He was previously at Santander where he worked as chief customer and innovation officer since 2020.

Invesco

Oliver Bilal has become head of Emea distribution at the global investment manager.

He joins from Natixis Investment Managers where he worked as head of international sales and marketing.

JO Hambro

The asset manager has recruited Frederic Lejeune as managing director of its newly established Paris office and country head of Frabelux.

He will be responsible for sales in France, Belgium and Luxembourg.

Most recently, Lejeune was president and managing director for Robeco France.

Nucoro

Steve Hoy has taken on the role of head of partnerships at the wealthtech platform.

He used to hold a similar role at Swedish fintech firm Minna Technologies.

Trium Capital

The alternative asset management business has hired Rosie Duffell as managing director of sales and investor relations.

She spent the last 13 years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she was responsible for the Emea client business.

Redwheel

The independent investment firm – formerly known as RWC Partners – has recruited Stephanie Kelly as head of thematic sustainability research, a newly created role.

She was previously deputy head of Abrdn Research Institute, where she was responsible for the integration and application of ESG research across the business.

Avellemy

Head of collectives Alena Kosava has left the discretionary manager, a year after joining.

It is not clear where she will move to next.

Her departure follows the sale Avellemy’s parent company, Ascot Lloyd, to European private equity investor Nordic Capital.

Lowes Financial Management

The UK advice firm has promoted Andy Gardiner to associate director, a newly created role.

He has been at firm as a financial adviser since 2005.

The UK-based IFA group named Helen Thornton as chief people officer, a newly created role.

She used to work at credit management firm Lowell, where she was UK people director, and is also a board trustee of Dixon Academies Trust.

Fidelity

The investment firm has hired Stefan Kuhn as head of ETF distribution for Europe, effective from 1 April 2022.

In he newly created position, he will be based in Kronberg, Germany and be responsible for expanding the company’s European ETF business.

Kuhn was previously at State Street Global Advisors, where he was head of SPDR ETFs for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

PGIM Investments

The asset management arm of Prudential has expanded to Italy with the hire of Alessandro Aspesi as country head.

He will be based in the firm’s newly opened office in Milan.

Aspesi joins from Columbia Threadneedle Investments, where he spent over a decade in a similar role.

Axa IM

The investment management division of Axa has promoted Amit Singh to head of inclusion, diversity and engagement, effective immediately.

He has been with the company since 2015, where he was head of human resources for Asia and Japan.

Candriam

The asset management company has promoted Jörg Allenspach to global head of private asset distribution.

This will be in addition to his current role as head of Candriam Switzerland.

He has been at the firm since 2018.

FE Fundinfo

The fund data provider has recruited Jens Jørgen Holm Møller as client director for the Nordic region.

Most recently, he ran his own consultancy business offering management support to asset managers and banks.

Tilney Smith & Williamson

The UK-based wealth management group has expanded its investment management team.

Sean O’Flanagan becomes an investment director.

He joins from Charles Stanley, where he spent over nine years as a senor investment manager and managed the firm’s AIM-based IHT service.

Artorius

Vanda Cox has joined the UK-based advice firm as business development director.

She joins from EQ Investors, where she was part of the board of directors.

Redwheel

The investment business, formerly known as RWC Partners, has made two hires.

Olivia Seddon-Daines takes on the role of senior sustainability specialist while Katherine Velasquez as responsible investment associate.

Seddon-Daines was previously head of ESG at Somerset Capital Management, while Velasquez worked as an ESG quantitative analyst at La Française Group.

Melbourne Capital Group

The Apac-based wealth management firm has appointed Michael Garcia as US private wealth manager.

He will serve American clients and US-connected people living outside of the US.

Garcia joins from DeVere Group, where he worked as an associate wealth consultant for more than five years in Malaysia.

Stacey Love, technical manager, has joined Canada Life from Crowe, where she was tax and estate planning manager, and prior to that spent a number of years at Legal and General.

Julia Peake is a tax and estate planning specialist and joins from Sanlam, where she held roles as head of life company distribution and technical development manager.

Ross Whittle is a tax and estate planning specialist and joins from Quilter Cheviot, where he was regional business development manager based in Birmingham.

Liz Hardie is a tax and estate planning specialist and joins Canada Life from Technical Connection.

Hansard

The Isle of Man-headquartered insurer has named John Whitehouse as head of change management and IT, according to the firm’s Linkedin page.

Whitehouse was previously at RBS International as programme manager.

Mirabaud Group

The current limited partners of the group will be referred to as Equity Partners from 1 January 2022.

The partners are Etienne d’Arenberg, head of wealth management UK, Thiago Frazao, head of wealth management Latam,

Alain Baron, head of wealth management Mena, and Andrew Lake, head of credit and fixed income at Mirabaud Asset Management.

Anu Narula will become the fifth equity partner of the group and the second from its asset management business line.

Narula is head of global equities at Mirabaud Asset Management, Anu joined Mirabaud in 2013 and is a member of the Mirabaud Asset Management Executive Committee.

Fairway Group

Dominic Coyne joins the company as funds director.

He was previously at VG, where he began his career 20 years ago.

RWC Partners

The investment group has named Sunita Patel as head of marketing.

She was previously marketing director for M&G Investments.

PGIM Investments

The firm has hired Sashi Nambiar as managing director, head of south east Asia.

Nambiar joins from Wellington Management, where he was managing director, global wealth.

PGIM Investments has also hired Wincy Mak as head of marketing Hong Kong and southeast Asia.

Mak joined from Abrdn, where she was head of marketing for Hong Kong and China.

Robeco

The asset manager has named Ben Rowley as senior sales manager to its UK wholesale team.

He joins Robeco from Amundi Asset Management, where he was responsible for the distribution of their product range to wholesale clients in London.

Man GLG

The discretionary investment operation of Man Group has appointed Yohann Terry and Jann Breitenmoser as portfolio managers in the firm’s equity team.

Terry joins Man GLG from J Safra Sarasin Asset Management, where he managed a sustainability-focused strategy investing in environmental themes such as water, the circular economy and smart mobility.

Breitenmoser also joins Man GLG from JSS AM, where he co-managed a strategy focused on the UN Sustainable Development Goals as well as a sustainable European small cap strategy.

IFC Forum

Peter Tarn has been appointed as chair of the industry group for the legal, financial, and professional services sectors across the world’s international financial centres.

He succeeds Jack Marriott, a partner at Maples Group and head of Maples and Calder’s corporate team.

Tarn is a partner in the BVI at law firm Harneys.

Chief executive Dan Mannix is stepping down and leaving the business after eight years in the role.

Mannix joined RWC in 2006 as head of business development from JP Morgan Asset Management. He became chief executive in 2010 after the departure of Peter Harrison to Schroders.

He is being replaced by the firm’s head of business development Tord Stallvik, who has been with the firm since 2015 when RWC acquired a 15-strong team from Everest Capital. Stallvik is a member of RWC’s executive committee.

Stallvik has 25 years’ experience in asset management. Before joining Everest Capital, he was a president at Protégé Partners, an alternative investment seeding firm.

Mannix is remaining available to the management team for a short time to assist with the handover.

HSBC

Ibrahim Al Abed has been named as head of private banking in Qatar at the group.

He brings to the role over two decades of banking experience at HSBC, having joined the bank’s Qatar office in 1999.

During his tenure, he has worked across digital business services and global operations before moving to wealth and personal banking, after which he joined markets and securities services in 2004 to become the head of corporate sales.

Utmost International

The insurance group has promoted Brendan Harper to head of Asia and ultra-high net worth, interim head of EU technical services, according to his LinkedIn profile.

He joined Utmost International in November 2020, when he started as head of EU technical services.

Prior to that, Harper spent 22 years at Friends Provident International as head of technical services.

T Rowe Price

The asset manager has strengthened its global financial intermediaries (GFI) space with the addition of business development professional Cécile Mariani.

Based in London, Mariani assumes the newly created role of head of Emea GFI.

Before joining T Rowe Price, Mariani was head of global banks at M&G Investments, where she led the group’s GFI business development efforts.

Hargreaves Lansdown

The investment platform has hired Helen Morrissey as senior pensions and retirement analyst.

She brings more than 18 years’ experience of the pensions industry, most recently with Royal London, where she worked as a pensions specialist for more than four years.

Prior to that, Morrisey was a journalist working at Professional Pensions, Global Pensions and Retirement Planner.

Raymond James

The financial services firm has named Alasdair Pike as a senior investment manager to work alongside co-branch principals David Stevens and David Roblin at its Royal Exchange branch in London.

Pike spent the first 11 years of his career at Cazenove & Co before joining JM Finn in 2005, where he managed private clients, pensions, charities, and trusts.

He was a co-founder of JM Finn’s managed portfolio service for IFAs.

Blackfinch Investments

The Gloucester-based investment specialist firm has boosted its business development team with the appointment of Tom Jaffrey as investor relationships manager.

He brings more than a decade of experience within the investment management industry, having previously held senior positions at Morgan Stanley Investment Management and Coutts.

Ben de Kock has been named as Pretoria regional manager at the South African firm.

He spent the last five years as a managing partner with a Momentum Consult franchise.

Deutsche Bank International Private Bank

The firm’s Switzerland-based international private banking arm has made several hires.

Raoul Zehnder will join the bank to manage ultra-high net worths and global family offices, effective from 1 October 2021 after a period of gardening leave.

He will be joined by senior relationship managers Patrik Minuscoli and Michael von Mecklenburg, senior investment manager Philipp Portenier and account manager Vincent Weisse.

Zehnder and the team will focus on UK resident non-domiciled and northern European clients.

They all join from UBS.

Rothschild & Co

The firm has expanded its wealth management business in Guernsey with two hires.

Justin Walley will become a director and a client adviser, while Nathan Long will take on the roles of assistant director and client adviser as well.

They both used to work for SG Kleinwort Hambros Bank (CI), where Walley was head of private banking for Guernsey, while Long served as a senior private banker and new business development director for the Channel Islands.

Strabens Hall

The financial advisory business has named Alistair Butt as an executive director to develop and implement future expansion plans.

Most recently, he worked as a consultant to various financial services companies and between 1991 and 2014 he was a director at Brooks Macdonald Financial Consulting.

Parmenion

The investment firm has made three senior promotions.

Harry Garrett and Jasper Thornton-Boelman will take on the roles of investment directors while Mollie Thornton will become senior investment manager.

Praemium

Siôn Puckle has become a sales manager at the platform, based in Dubai.

He was previously a private banker for Arbuthnot Latham in the UAE city for over four years.

RWC Partners

Investment firm RWC Partners expanded its UK distribution capabilities with a double hire.

Simon Rogers joined to cover strategic partners and relationships in the southeast of England, while Georgia-Rae Fry took on the role of national sales manager.

Rogers was previously head of sales for southeast, east Anglia, Midland IOM, Northern Island and South Africa at Artemis Fund Managers; while Fry spent the last five years at 7IM, most recently as a business development manager for the southeast region.

BNP Paribas Asset Management

Steven Billiet has been promoted to head of global client group, effective from 1 August 2021.

He succeeds Sandro Pierri who was promoted to chief executive of BNPP AM from 1 July 2021.

Billiet joined the firm last year as chief executive of BNP AM Apac and head of distribution for Apac from JP Morgan Asset Management where he spent six years in the top job for Singapore.

He is currently based in Hong Kong and will relocate to Paris once his successor has been named.

M&G

Fabiana Fedeli is going to lead M&G’s £57bn ($78.6bn, €66.3bn) equities division.

She takes on the role of chief investment officer for equities from Robeco Asset Management where she served as global head of fundamental equities.
