in a statement on 7 October, Vistra said the hires recognised the growing need for cross-border solutions among clients in the USA and Canada, plus rising interest from international clients looking to expand and raise capital in North America.

In response, Vistra recently acquired the Phoenix American Fund Administration and Transfer Agency business, “enabling it to provide solutions for retail investors of any scale and is driving a further strategic expansion of its North America Funds team to sharpen its customer focus across this important sector”.

Vistra introduced new Enterprise Account Manager roles designed to ensure that its clients “have a close ally by their side, demonstrating
Vistra’s commitment to putting clients’ needs at the forefront of everything it does”.

Rosemary McCollin, head of funds commercial – Europe, UK and US at Vistra, who is leading this initiative for the Funds
business in the US market said: “Clients can expect an enhanced, seamless and frictionless experience with Vistra as their Enterprise Account Managers work to actively support their expansion plans, help drive solutions and deliver the optimal experience in their partnership with Vistra.

“In the Funds business, I’m delighted to announce our new Managing Director in US Funds, Frank Anduiza, and four new Enterprise Account Managers in his team – Christopher Murphy, Sean Ward and two colleagues who join Vistra as part of our acquisition of the Phoenix American Fund Administration and Transfer Agency business – Matt Podolsky and Tony Olivo. Frank Anduiza (pictured)

Based in New York, Frank will be working closely with the Funds Enterprise Account Managers to ensure  US clients are
provided with the exceptional service and innovative solutions to drive their growth ambitions. He brings a wealth of
experience from global investment banks Citi, BNY Mellon and most recently, Ultimus LeverPoint Private Fund Solutions,
where he focused on solutions for alternative investment clients across the entire life cycle.

Christopher Murphy

As Commercial Sales Director, he will be expanding North American presence, prioritising the growth of our
alternative investment community and open-ended hedge fund business through strategic marketing, sales, and operational
efforts. Christopher’s extensive background in the financial services industry began with SS&C and he has since held key
roles at Maitland, Gen II, and STP, specialising in closed-end, private equity, real estate, hedge funds and crypto funds.

Sean Ward

As Commercial Sales Director, he will be growing our presence in the North American alternative investment sector,
particularly in private equity, private debt, venture capital, and real estate. He brings rich experience from MUFG, SS&C,
where he was employed in a business development capacity. Sean also spent five years at Bloomberg selling the Core
Terminal and Bloomberg’s OMS, AIM.

Matt Podolsky

He joins us as Vice President of Sales from the former Phoenix American Fund Administration and Transfer Agency team.
Matt will be increasing our presence in the US working with existing and new clients who want to maximise our expanded
scale in the US retail funds market. He’s already supporting clients’ growth strategies as we support their domestic and
international fund objectives. His experience covers the real estate and alternative investment sectors having held key
roles at Inland Securities Corporation, Realty Capital Securities, Atlas Resources LLC and most recently Phoenix American.

Tony Olivo

As Vice President of Sales and joining as part of our acquisition with Phoenix American Fund Administration and Transfer
Agency business, he will promote our deeper and broader end-to-end fund solutions across the entire investment life
cycle to his current and new clients. He’s well-versed in our proprietary technology platform (STAR-XMS) designed to track
investors and investment transactions to assist in fund performance reporting which he and the team continue to refine and
innovate. He brings rich business development experience from Phoenix American, PEF Services LLC and then
commercial experience from Phoenix American again which he rejoined in 2020.

The UK lifeboat scheme has announced its chief executive Caroline Rainbird has left.

Fiona Kidy, chief financial officer, has agreed to step up to lead the organisation while it starts the search for a successor.

The Money and Pensions Service (Maps)

Caroline Siarkiewicz has confirmed to the board that she will not be taking up a second term.

She was appointed as chief executive in January 2020 having been acting chief executive since June 2019.

Siarkiewicz will step down at the end of January 2024 after four years leading the organisation through a period of significant change.

The search for a successor will commence shortly and will be led by Maps’ chair Sara Weller. The appointment will be subject to the approval of the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions.

SEI

Jim London has been named as chief executive of SEI Investments (Europe) Limited (SIEL).

He will continue to maintain his responsibilities as head of SEI’s UK private banking and wealth management business.

London will succeed Brett Williams following his retirement, effective 30 June pending regulatory approval.

With more than 25 years’ experience in financial services, London currently serves as chief operating officer for SIEL.

Hargreaves Lansdown

The investment firm has appointed Brown Shipley’s investment head Toby Vaughan as chief investment officer.

Vaughan was previously head of multi strategy solutions at Santander Asset Management, a fund manager at LV Asset Management, and director for asset allocation at F&C Asset Management.

Marwyn Acquisition Company II

Will Self has been appointed as chief executive of the London Stock Exchange-listed acquisition vehicle.

He was previously chief executive for the pensions division.

Prior to that, Self was at Curtis Banks Group, where he was chief executive.

Waverton Investment Management

Steve Chhoker has joined the firm as chief financial officer.

Chhoker has close to two decades of experience in wealth management, previously holding senior finance positions at WH Ireland, Saunderson House and Brooks Macdonald.

He replaces David Welch, who leaves after serving 26 years with Waverton.

Axa Investment Managers (Axa IM)

Caroline Portel has been named as global chief operating officer, effective 1 July 2023.

She will take over from Laurent Caillot, who will pursue a new professional endeavour outside of the Axa Group.

Verso Wealth Management

The advice company has hired Jonathan Fell as group chief operating officer.

He joins from Assurant, where as digital, CX and customer service director, he led the digital transformation programme for its European operation.

Before his time at Assurant, he spent three years as group operations director at Succession Group.

Barclays Private Bank

The company has strengthened its presence in Asia by making two senior appointments in its Singapore office.

Tom Road has been appointed deputy head for Singapore. Having worked for Barclays Private Bank in London for the past 13 years, covering UHNW and Global Family Offices, Road has relocated to Singapore to take up his new role.

Wengmun Loh has been appointed head of dealing and derivatives in Singapore. Wengmun has been with Barclays since 2008 and was most recently head of UK direct access for Barclays Private Bank in London.

In his new role, Wengmun will relocate to Singapore and is responsible for building up the capital markets and trading capability of Barclays Private Bank, Singapore.

Abrdn

The asset manager confirmed that its head of digital solutions, Paul Titterton, has left the business.

Titterton joined the provider in January 2022, and was responsible for developing the firm’s digital retirement advice proposition.

A spokesperson for Abrdn told International Adviser: ‘We can confirm that Paul has left the company, we would like to thank him for his contribution and wish him well for the future.”

NextWealth

The research firm has appointed Emma Napier as consulting director.

Napier as previously head of sales and proposition at Bravura and head of distribution at True Potential.

Vistra

Jonathan Ferrara has been named as managing director for the firm’s Channel Islands arm.

He has held senior roles at various global organisations, including Bank of America, UBS and most recently Sanne, where he was managing director for Channel Islands.

Irwin Mitchell

The law firm has added to its high net worth and international tax team in London with the appointment of partner Matthew Briggs.

He joins from boutique private client practice the Burnside Partnership and specialises in personal tax, estate and succession planning for UK and international individuals and families.

Clarion Wealth Planning

The advice firm has expanded its team with the appointment of Bradley Peet as an associate financial planner.

He has joined Clarion after more than three years at Carpenter Rees.

The UK financial advice network has a couple of c-suite changes.

Grant Hotson will become group chief financial officer in 2023, replacing Richard Houghton, who will take on the role of chief executive in January 2023.

Hotson joins from Abrdn, where he served as commercial finance director.

Additionally, Dominic Sheridan, chief executive of Openwork’s investment management arm Omnis Investments, is leaving the business to pursue an external opportunity.

Rob Thorpe will succeed him after leading BMO Asset Management’s intermediary business in Emea as managing director.

Amundi

The France-headquartered asset manager has promoted Alain Berry to chief executive of Amundi Asset Management in the Czech Republic.

He has been head of communications at Credit Agricole AM since 2008, which became Amundi in 2010 following the merger with SocGen Asset Management.

IQ-EQ

Samuel Kuborn has taken on the role of regional chief operating officer for continental Europe at the private client firm, a newly created role.

He will be based in Luxembourg and join from RBC Investor & Treasury Services, where he was managing director of the product and profitability of the trustee, depositary and fund corporate services division.

Kuborn will be responsible for day-to-day operations across Luxembourg, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Belgium and Cyprus.

Vistra

Alan Brown has stepped down as group chief executive of the Hong Kong-based fund and corporate services provider.

Simon Webster will take over, effective from 7 November 2022. He was most recently group chief executive of data provider CPA Global.

Van Lanschot Kempen

The Dutch private bank has promoted Susan Leerkes to chief executive of its Swiss subsidiary, effective from 1 January 2023.

She is currently managing director of the bank’s Amsterdam, Hilversum and Laren offices.

Aviva Investors

Richard Surrency has become head of Asia Pacific at Aviva Investors, based in Singapore.

He joins from Franklin Templeton, where he was head of private markets and alternative business in Asia.

Aditum Investment Management

The Dubai-based investment management business has recruited James Clark as head of investment funds and research.

He joins from Hawksmoor Investment Management in the UK, where he spent more than seven years as a senior fund analyst.

Quilter Cheviot

The discretionary investment arm of Quilter has hired three investment managers across the UK.

Andrew Hannay has joined the Edinburgh office from Cornelian Asset Managers (now part of Brooks Macdonald), where he held senior investment roles.

The Jersey office has recruited Thea Wright from JTC Employer Solutions, where she was for just over a year.

Last, James Rennie has re-joined the business in the Birmingham office from Rathbones Greenbank. He originally started working at the firm in 2016 as a trainee investment manager.

Tabula Investment Management

The European asset manager and ETF provider has hired named Marks Lander within its client coverage team to enhance its business development in Germany and Austria.

He was previously at Danske Bank in London, where he worked as a senior banker and was responsible for client relationships in the two European countries.

This transaction “will expand Vistra’s company formation and private wealth businesses”, it said in a statement.

Newhaven is based in BVI, Dubai, Guernsey, Hong Kong and Mauritius.

Reuben Anstock, Newhaven chief executive, and his senior management team will remain with the business in senior roles. Newhaven will be rebranded to Vistra upon completion of the transaction.

Jonathon Clifton, regional managing director at Vistra, said: “This acquisition aligns nicely with the strategic objectives for Vistra where we continue to look for ways to improve the services we provide to our clients.

“Newhaven brings to Vistra additional talent and expertise and bolsters our position as a leading incorporation services provider, particularly in the BVI market, and further strengthens our front office capabilities in Hong Kong.”

The deal is subject to regulatory approvals in various jurisdictions.

Maurice Tulloch has been named as chief executive of the UK-based firm.

Tulloch joined Aviva in 1992 and was appointed to the board of Aviva in June 2017.

He is currently Aviva’s chief executive of international insurance and has responsibility for Aviva’s life insurance and general insurance operations in France, Canada, Ireland, Italy, Poland, Turkey and India.

Prior to that, he was previously chief executive of Aviva UK and Ireland General Insurance.

Sir Adrian Montague, chairman of Aviva, who has been acting chief executive, will revert to his role as non-executive chairman.

Ardan International

Sarah Dunnage has been named permanent chief executive for Ardan International.

The appointment comes following Dunnage’s six-month period as interim chief executive.

Dunnage has been part of the Ardan management team since it was purchased by International Financial Group – owner of the Ardan, RL360 and RL360 Services brands – in late 2016.

She was the head of finance for RL360.

Vistra

The trust and private client service provider has hired Alan Brown as group chief executive and Geoff Weir as group chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Based in Vistra’s headquarters in Hong Kong, both Brown and Weir will join the company’s board. Their appointments are subject to regulatory approval.

Simon Hinshelwood, who has been leading the business as the executive chairman, will resume his role as non-executive chairman role.

Brown was most recently chief executive of ASCO Group, a Scotland-headquartered oil and gas services company.

Weir has held a number of group chief financial officer roles at Scotts Philips Associates, Exridge, Digicel, and most recently Sinar Mas in Indonesia.

National Bank of Australia

The bank has hired current director Philip Chronican as chairman.

He will replace Ken Henry as chairman later in 2019. Henry stepped down after his leadership was criticised by the recent  Royal Commission in banking practices.

Chronican commenced in the role of group chief executive on 1 March 2019.

Nedbank Private Wealth

The firm has appointed David McFadzean as head of investments Jersey.

In the role, McFadzean, will be responsible for driving the company’s investment operation.

He joins from RBC Wealth Management.

Unicredit

The Italian financial services firm has hired Alessandro Cummunale as head of global family office (GFO), effective from 1 March 2019.

Cummunale will expand its offering to high and ultra-high net worth clients in partnership with group wealth management (GWM) across all geographies.

Before joining UniCredit, he was head of key client partners for the Europe, Middle East and Africa region at Deutsche Bank Schweiz in Zurich.

Securities and Futures Commission

The Hong Kong financial regulator has named Nicky Lo Kar-chun and Clement Chan Kam-wing as non-executive directors.

They will both serve a term of two years.

Outgoing non-executive directors Mary Ma Xuezheng and Albert Au Siu-cheung will leave their role on 23 April 2019 and 25 May 2019, respectively.

Charles Stanley

The wealth manager has hired John Porteous as group head of distribution.

In this newly-created role, he will have group-wide responsibility for developing overall distribution strategy for services and products.

Porteous will also join the firm’s executive committee and will report to chief executive, Paul Abberley.

He has more than 25 years’ experience in financial services.

Brown Shipley

Nick Cringle has become regional head of north west England at Brown Shipley, joining in May.

He will lead the firm in the north west, and also become head of the firm’s Manchester office, where he will be based.

Cringle will report into Guy Healey, head of private banking.

Prior to this move, He was at Arbuthnot Latham where he is currently director of private banking in Manchester.

Brewin Dolphin

William Quantrill has joined the UK wealth manager as wealth director, located at its London.

Quantrill joins Brewin Dolphin following 13 years at Kleinwort Hambros and he has over 25 years’ experience working with high net worth clients.
