Evelyn Partners has appointed Declan Kirby as a chartered financial planner in its Birmingham office.

Before joining Evelyn Partners, he worked for Henwood Court Financial Planning, providing financial planning and wealth management advice. Kirby focuses on working with senior executives, business owners and professionals, and is a fellow of the Personal Finance Society.

Blacktower Financial Management

Blacktower Financial Management has promoted Taylor Sallery to the role of US country manager. This move comes in recognition of Sallery’s significant contributions to Blacktower’s growth in the United States, the firm said.

Group managing director Gavin Pluck said: “I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Taylor on his recent promotion. Taylor’s dedication and hard work in managing and expanding our operations in this region have been invaluable.”

Progeny

Progeny has appointed Tom Wood as chief financial officer.

He brings 25 years of experience in financial services to the firm. Wood was chief restructuring and financial officer of the Co-Operative Bank between 2017 and 2019.

Prior to this, he was CEO and CFO of Shawbrook Group where he led the business through its successful IPO and entry into the FTSE 250.

GSB

GSB continued the expansion of its global wealth and advisory business with the hiring of Sam Goddard-Watts, Ruby Coogan and Mutale Grace Sitali. The trio will be based in Dubai.

Goddard-Watts has joined as an associate partner in the GSB Private team. He was previously a client director at Coutts, managing a portfolio of HNW clients.

Coogan has joined as group marketing manager with ten years of industry experience. Her most recent role was with Hoxton Capital Management as a brand and communications Manager.

Sitali has been hired as a client impact manager, and has a robust background in administration, customer service, and risk management.

Lombard Odier Investment Managers

Lombard Odier Investment Managers appointment of Aude Dhuivonroux as head of France.

Dhuivonroux joined LOIM in January 2022 from Allianz Global Investors, where she was a director in charge of business development for France and Belgium from 2019 to 2021. Prior to that, she spent eight years at Oyster Funds and seven years at Société Générale Asset Management.

Love Ventures has hired Faye Williams to take on the newly created role of distribution director.

Williams will be responsible for oversight and day-to-day management of the firm’s business development and marketing.

Love Ventures works with financial advisers investing in Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS), with a focus on fintech, future of work and consumer tech.

Before joining Love Ventures, Williams was at TIME Investments, where she was director of business development and responsible for a 20 strong sales team.

Raymond James Wealth Management

RJWM, the newly created business that comprises both Charles Stanley and Raymond James Investment Services (RJIS), has announced its first two senior appointments.

Sandy Kinney Pritchard has joined as an independent non-executive director and chair of the board of RJWM Limited, and Francesca Hampton as group chief financial officer..

Both will join the RJWM Limited board in February 2024 and will also serve on the respective boards of the underlying regulated entities.

Legal & General Investment Management

LGIM has hired Sam Kulahan as a senior member of its 13 person manager research group, responsible for manager research covering liquid and illiquid assets. He will sit within LGIM’s asset allocation team and work closely with LGIM’s solutions group.

His previous roles include working in Morningstar’s manager research team.

Kulahan’s research will support LGIM’s core model portfolios and tailored solutions for LGIM’s retail model portfolio service (MPS) partners, as well as institutional clients holding external managers in portfolios managed by LGIM.

Lombard Odier Group

Lombard Odier Group has hired Bettina Ducat as co-head of Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) from 5 March 2024.

She will be based in Geneva and will become a limited partner. Ducat will jointly lead LOIM, Lombard Odier’s asset management division, together with managing partner Jean-Pascal Porcherot.

Before joining Lombard Odier, Ducat was CEO of La Financière de l’Echiquier and deputy CEO in charge of asset management of the Primonial Group.

Dimensional Fund Advisors

Dimensional Fund Advisors has promoted global head of research Savina Rizova to co-chief investment officer, alongside co-CEO Gerard O’Reilly, effective 1 February.

As co-CIOs, O’Reilly and Rizova will lead a team of more than 300 investment professionals across six countries.

The financial services firm has appointed Nigel Gregory and Christopher Somers to the group’s Dubai office.

Gregory joins as global head of GSB Capital and has worked in various senior executive roles across compliance, training, sales, and management in UK banks for 10 years.

Somers joins as senior partner in the GSB Private banking team and prior to joining, has held senior positions at Standard Chartered Bank and the Royal Bank of Canada.

CII

The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has announced Enas Asiri and Suresh Nair as vice presidents.

Asiri is a long-standing member of the CII and became a Fellow (FCII) in 2015. Prior to joining National Life Assurance (BNL) in 2017, she was the head of the life and medical operations at the Arab Insurance Group (ARIG).

Nair brings three decades of experience in the insurance industry and is currently the executive director at Gargash Insurance Services in Dubai. He is also a Fellow of the CII and holds an MBA.

Lombard Odier

The wealth planning team has announced David Barker as senior wealth planner.

Barker has worked for over 25 years at the accountancy firm, Rawlinson & Hunter, in roles including head of tax and managing partner.

Sarasin & Partners

The investment manager has appointed Edward Lloyd and Jack Brodie.

Lloyd joins as senior investment manager after six years at Quilter Cheviot, whilst Brodie joins as investment analyst at the Sarasin Bread Street team.

Loyal North PLC

The financial planning business has hired Kuan Ang as group finance director and board member of the executive committee.

Ang brings 20 years’ experience working in senior roles for Ernst & Young and Deloitte.

SimplyBiz

The financial advice firm has hired Fabian Wiesner as head of distribution partnerships.

Wiesner joins from Aviva Investors as strategic partners manager and has previously held positions at Old Mutual Global Investors.

Spring Capital Partners

The funds distribution partner has appointed Dani Hristova and Will Nott as non-executive directors.

Hristova began her career at Legal & General Investment Management in 2015, and has since worked at Schroders Investment Management and Nordea Asset Management. She was recently appointed chief executive of Independent Investment Management Initiative (IIMI).

Nott brings four decades worth of asset management experience. He spent 34 years with M&G, where he was the chief executive of M&G Securities for 17 years. He was the President of the European Fund and Asset Management Association (EFAMA) from 2017 to 2019, and is currently chairman of Door Ventures, the digital RFP platform.

Mirabaud Wealth Management

The investment service has appointed Jonathan Unwin as head of portfolio management for the UK.

Unwin brings over 16 years’ experience managing client wealth. He has worked at Credit Suisse and in 2015, was the deputy head of asset management at Banque Havilland, a Luxembourg-based private bank.

Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI)

The professional body has hired Emma Black as president of the CISI North East Committee.

Black co-founded the wealth management company called Tier One Capital and built a compare-the-market savings tool called Cascade Cash Management. She also co-founded the new bank – GB Bank – in 2017 and has lectured across undergraduate and post-graduate levels at Durham University, Newcastle University and Leeds University.

The bank has appointed Jane Niles as chief executive.

She is taking over the role from Brendan Stewart, who is stepping down after five years.

Niles joined Investec in 2016, initially leading the corporate and family office segment, and more recently, acting as head of offshore real estate and head of lending.

Irwin Mitchell

The law firm and advice group has named Craig Marshall as group chief executive.

This is following the death of the firm’s former chief executive Andrew Tucker.

Marshall joined Irwin Mitchell in 2007 when the firm merged with Scottish law firm Golds before being appointed chief executive of Irwin Mitchell’s personal legal services division from 2014 to April 2021.

He then became group chief operating officer in 2021.

Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM)

The asset manager has named Pauline Plunkett as chief executive of its European operation and managing director of Ireland, subject to regulatory and board approvals.

She was previously head of insurance clients, having joined LGIM in March 2014.

Brown Shipley

The Quintet Private Bank subsidiary has hired Andrew Kyle as chief financial officer, subject to regulatory approval.

Kyle, who served as chief financial officer of Coutts for the previous five years, will join Brown Shipley in October 2023 as chief financial officer designate, working alongside the firm’s outgoing chief financial officer Andrew Curran, who will retire in March 2024 after serving at the UK private bank for over 20 years.

Standard Chartered

Mike Tan has joined the bank as global head of wealth planning and family advisory.

He was most recently part of the wealth advisory team at JP Morgan NA, Singapore.

Lombard Odier

The wealth manager has appointed Alexandre Meyer as managing partner.

Meyer joined Lombard Odier 25 years ago.

Annika Falkengren, who joined the group in 2017, has decided to step down as managing partner at the end of 2023.

MKC Wealth

The independent wealth management firm has appointed Rick Eling as managing director of its authorised investment management business MKC Investment Management.

He joins from Quilter, where he was latterly head of adviser propositions and spent four years as investment director of its advice network Quilter Financial Planning.

Alexander Peter Wealth Management

Claire Taylor has joined the advice firm as a transatlantic financial planner.

She was previously at Forth Capital, where she was an international planner.

Indosuez Wealth Management

The global wealth management arm of Crédit Agricole Group has named Emile Salawi as head of the Middle East.

He joined Indosuez Wealth Management in 2020 as head of key clients and family offices of CA Indosuez (Switzerland) SA.

EFG

The company has named Francesca Speroni as team leader and deputy head of private banking of EFG Private Bank, the UK private banking arm of EFG International.

Speroni has joined EFG from Credit Suisse, where she was a managing director and served as team leader UK for more than five years.

Earlier this year, EFG also hired Inbal Shiloach as client relationship officer focusing on Israeli ultra-high net worth individuals (UHNWI).

She joined the bank from Julius Baer, where she spent 12 years and most recently served as head of Israel out of London.

Vivian Yuen also joined EFG in London earlier this year as client relationship officer with responsibility for UHNWIs based in Hong Kong and Greater China.

She previously worked for Julius Baer Hong Kong, where she was most recently an associate manager serving private clients booked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Switzerland.

HSBC

The UK private banking arm has recruited a team of relationship managers in its London office.

Phil Aleppo will lead the team and joins from Credit Suisse where he led a team of ultra-high net worth and high net worth bankers in the UK domestic team.

Joining the team are Henri Etchegoyen, Brad Werner, Usmaan Aziz and Oliver Beasant.

Elsewhere, Lok Yim has been named as regional head of global private banking, Asia Pacific.

Yim joins HSBC on a designate basis on 1 November and commences formally on 1 January 2024, subject to regulatory approval.

Yim succeeds Siew Meng Tan, who is retiring after an almost forty-year career in banking.

He joins HSBC from Deutsche Bank where he spent 16 years, most recently as chief executive for Hong Kong SAR.

Belasko

The financial services provider has appointed Alex Le Prevost as associate director.

Le Prevost was previously at Suntera Global, where he was a senior trust manager.

UBS

Ulrike Hoffmann-Burchardi will join the firm’s chief investment office as head chief investment officer for equities, effective 23 October 2023.

Hoffmann-Burchardi joins from Tudor Investment Corporation, where she has been a partner and senior portfolio manager since 2009.

Holborn Assets

The Dubai-based firm is launching a major expansion of its residency and citizenship investment (RCBI) division.

It has appointed Pablo Ostrick to be the managing director of its RCBI unit, known as Holborn Pass.

In his new role, Ostrick will hire 25 advisers this year to work alongside the firm’s 250 wealth managers.

He was previously general manager of Holborn Pass.

Macquarie Asset Management

Henry Middleton has joined the firm as managing director and head of wealth distribution for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

He was previously at Barings, where he most recently led its US institutional and global wealth distribution activities.

The owner of J O Hambro Capital Management has reshuffled the asset manager’s senior leadership team resulting in UK and Europe chief executive Alexandra Altinger heading for the exit.

Following a seven month ‘period of integration’ and a change in group strategy, Perpetual has taken steps to ‘simplify’ the business.

J O Hambro’s regional asset management businesses will be folded into one global division led by Rob Adams in the newly created role of chief executive, asset management.

Adams will assume a dual role, remaining as Perpetual Group chief executive as well. To support him, two new roles have been created in the leadership team.

Graham Kitchen, currently chair of Trillium and Perpetual corporate entities in the UK, will become global head of investment strategy for an interim period while a search commences for a permanent appointment.

Clare Forster is to become global head of business management and strategic delivery. She will be responsible for ‘coordination, prioritisation and delivery of business activities’ within the asset management unit.

Lombard Odier

The international wealth manager has appointed Kim Chatting as UK market head, Geneva, as of 1 September 2023.

She will report to Duncan MacIntyre, UK chief executive of Lombard Odier Private Bank.

Chatting joins Lombard Odier from Julius Baer in Geneva. Previously, she spent six years as a director at Société Générale Private Banking where she built a strong book of clients with a UK nexus.

Bravura Solutions

The fintech firm has named Greg Johnson as global head of product.

In his role, Johnson will lead Bravura’s global product team, working to unify and simplify Bravura’s expansive suite of products throughout the wealth value chain, with a focus on creating repeatable, scalable and easily integrated solutions.

Praxis

The global private wealth and corporate services provider has promoted senior professionals Tom Allison and Maxine Lilley.

Guernsey-based Allison has moved up to senior manager, where his primary focus is on a significant family office relationship, providing financial information and managing the client’s structure.

In Jersey, Lilley has also been promoted to senior manager in the group’s private wealth team.

BNP Paribas Wealth Management

The wealth firm has made several changes to its leadership team in Singapore and Asia, effective 1 September.

Garth Bregman has been appointed head of wealth management for Singapore and southeast Asia. Bregman has been with BNP Paribas WM for over a decade and was most recently the head of investment services for Asia Pacific. He previously worked at Insinger de Beaufort before it was acquired by BNP Paribas.

Meanwhile, Alison Lim has been appointed market head for southeast Asia. She joined BNP Paribas in 2019 having previously worked at Credit Suisse, UBS and the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

David Lim has been appointed executive vice chairman of southeast Asia. He joined BNP Paribas WM as head of Singapore and southeast Asia four years ago.

Finally, Shafali Sachdev has been named head of investment services for Asia. She joined BNP Paribas WM six years ago and most recently served as head of fixed income, currencies and commodities. She previously worked for Citi for more than 13 years and also worked at wealth management software company Credence Analytics.

Hawksford

The global corporate, private client and fund services provider has appointed two directors in Jersey, with Magda Stratford and Gerry Gowans joining the group as part of its ongoing strategy to bolster its proposition for international private clients.

Stratford has more than 15 years of experience in the Jersey fiduciary sector, including at Coutts & Co Trustees, BNP Paribas and most recently at Zedra, where she was a client director.

Gowans has held a number of senior positions across the UK, Jersey and Guernsey, most recently at Zedra where he was a client director, working alongside Stratford.
