This updated service comprises the Nexus Global Solutions, Dynamic, and the newly launched Cautious Portfolios, tailored to meet the diverse needs of international clients and expatriates.

John Westwood, group chairman of Blacktower, said: “Our international Portfolio Management Service, already operational, is expertly designed to support advisers in managing cross-border investments. It adheres to rigorous international regulatory standards, empowering advisers to successfully navigate complex global markets.”

The introduction of the Cautious Portfolio marks a significant milestone. Designed for clients seeking stability in uncertain markets, this portfolio aims to balance capital preservation with growth potential through strategic asset allocations tailored to the current economic climate, emphasising robust risk management.

Dominic Tayler, managing director at Oakglen Wealth UK, said: “Since assuming management earlier this year, we have significantly streamlined the portfolios, focusing on 30-35 high-performing stocks across various sectors. This approach maintains diversification while targeting attractive returns, emphasising sectors like technology, cybersecurity, and defence, which reflect the current global economic shifts and the urgent need for infrastructure supporting digitisation and green energy transitions.”

Additionally, Tayler highlighted changes to interest rate exposure: “We have concentrated our bond holdings in intermediate maturities within UK gilts and investment-grade corporate bonds. This strategic adjustment is crucial in today’s economic environment, where managing exposure to potential inflationary pressures is key to protecting our clients’ investments.”

The Cautious Portfolio is now live and available to clients. It is an ideal solution for those particularly sensitive to market volatility, offering a conservative investment approach. It exemplifies our commitment to providing tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each investor, backed by comprehensive market analysis and strategic foresight.

Blacktower said this underlined its commitment to offering globally compliant investment solutions that are responsive to the evolving needs of international advisers and their clients.

“By closely aligning with market conditions and strategic investment opportunities, Oakglen Wealth and Blacktower ensure superior service and investment outcomes for their clientele”, the statement said.

You can find the full Roll of Honour below.

‘Rising tide of professional standards’

“We are living through a challenging time – with much to test and occupy advice firms,” said Mark Sanderson, managing director of Morningstar Wealth. “In among all that, it is incredibly encouraging to see the increasing priority placed on best practice, with a rising tide of professional standards. Well done to all firms striving to be the best – for their clients, their teams and their profession.”

Julian Marr, editorial director of International Adviser, added: “The Best Practice Adviser Awards would not have been possible without the time, insights and efforts of our panel of expert judges – chaired as efficiently as ever by David Worsfold – so our sincere thanks go to all of them.

“While these awards do encourage entries across 12 different categories covering every aspect of the business of financial and investment advice, it should be stressed that the process will only allow for a winner to be named if our panel of judges agrees the appropriate quality threshold has been reached. As such, some categories across each of the regions do not have a winner; at the same time, there can be no more than one winner per category.”

Gavin Pluck, group managing director, added: “Together with our extensive licensing footprint, the new DIFC entity will afford us the perfect opportunity to provide fully holistic and seamless cross-border solutions in highly regulated international markets, which can often be restrictive to many advisers.
